Electricity from Wind Farms

The Midwest, a land of gentle rolling prairie land could be getting some serious renewable energy. The Illinois Power Commission which purchases electricity on behalf of consumers in Illinois has been given the go-ahead to seek 3.5% of its electricity needs from wind power companies.

That’s a very good step towards making our utility resources more diversified – and while probably not cheaper would start the process that could see us harvesting more power from wind and solar.
