Electricity Price Comparison

I just got a big surprise on my electricity bill this last week and I’m still trying to figure out what happened. Apparently the kilowatt hours I used went up drastically but that usually happens in the summer – not in the winter – when the air conditioning is on. While I’m not sure what the electricity sucking culprit is – I was not too surprised to find an article from USA Today stating that electricity bills are skyrocketing across the nation.

If you’re lucky enough to live in an area that has more than one electricity supplier to choose from, comparison shopping could save you a lot of money on your energy bill.

I wish I had this option. Where I live, we have one big corporation that runs all of the utilities (electric, gas, etc.) and the public transportation in the city. We are stuck with their ever-rising rates and have to creatively find ways to reduce costs.
